Ecole LaVérendrye is a French Immersion "milieu" school. All subjects, other than English Language Arts, are taught in French. The daily routines, such as announcements and assemblies, are conducted in French.

Many studies have repeatedly confirmed that facility in a student's first language is enhanced when the student has undertaken a second language immersion program. The bottom line is that French Immersion improves English language skills and facilitates the acquisition of other languages as well.

Every attempt is made to keep the primary level classes at smaller, manageable sizes in order to maximize the teacher-pupil contact time.
