Gustav Holst

Gustav Holst was an English composer and became famous for his suite, The Planets. It is a series of seven "movements", one for each of the non-Earth planets known in Holst’s day (i.e., all of the planets but Earth and Pluto).

 

 

J. S. Bach

Johann Sebastian Bach was one of the world's greatest composers. He lived and wrote his music in an historical period called The Baroque. He is often referred to as a Baroque composer.

 

 

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

2006 marks the 250 anniversary of Mozart's birth. Mozart was born on January 27, 1756 in Salzburg Austria. Mozart was one of the most prolific composers that ever lived.

 

 

 

Ludwig van Beethoven

Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany on December 16, 1770. His father was a singer and his mother was the daughter of a cook. They were very poor.
