1) Term Mark: 70% and 2) Final Exam: 30%

The term marks are based on unit tests, class work, assignments and labs.  Regular attendance is important.  Missed unit tests and in class assignments can only be made up for if the student can provide a note from their parent or guardian.  Make your best effort to complete assigned work to the best of your ability and hand it in on time.  Late labs and other late assignments may have marks deducted from them.

MARKING OF ASSIGNMENTS

There are two types of assignments:

TYPE I are marked out of TEN. They will usually consist of assignments completed during class time and will be marked for correctness. Each error or blank response will deduct a mark.

TYPE II are marked out of FIVE. They will consist of portfolios of several assignments accumulated over several days. An honest attempt to answer all of the questions must be evident.

Marks will be deducted from TYPE II assignments for the following deficiencies:

·         name or part of package missing, incomplete or illegible

·         pages out of order, disorganized, sloppy, incomplete answers, lack of appropriate titles,

spelling / grammatical errors and general impression

·         work copied from another (not on task during class)

The assignment is worth zero if handed in after it has been returned to the class.
