Kelvin High School Volunteer Program

The Kelvin Volunteer Program provides students in S1-S4 the opportunity to do volunteer service in their community, in the school, and throughout the division. The program, which allows students to gain up to 2 full credits towards graduation, lets students gain valuable experience in:

-co-operative learning,

-team building,

-job experience,

-developing resumes,

-contributing to people and places in the community,

-exposure to professional workplace settings,

-supporting numerous charitable causes,

- providing volunteer support to Kelvin High School and the Winnipeg School Division.

The program includes a classroom component (as well as volunteering) for S1-S2 students. The volunteering program has been a huge success at Kelvin High School. As well, the valuable experiences and opportunities the students gain in their volunteering is an invaluable piece to both their educational and career goals.

The volunteering program is run by Mrs. Sheri Temple (Mathematics/Resource) and Mr. Hugh Tibbs (Special Education/Resource).
