The diversity of topics makes the S1 math course interesting and challenging. Good work habits, a real effort, and organization are important. Daily homework and review are required. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential. Always bring your supplies to class and keep your work organized in a binder.

Supplies You will require a binder, duotang, dividers, pen/pencil, geometry set,
graph paper, and scientific calculator
Testing Test writing is important and is done approximately every second
week. All tests are cumulative. To help you and your parents/guardians monitor your progress, you will be required to have your parents/guardians sign all tests. Each test must be corrected and signed.
Evaluation Each term mark is based on 65% test marks, 35% assignments, mental math and quizzes .
There will be a Midterm exam in January worth 30% of the second
report. The final mark will be 70% of the year’s work
and 30% of the final exam mark.
It is your responsibility to get as much help in and out of class time. Extra help is always available from your teacher or the resource room. If you start experiencing difficulties, come for extra help immediately! Concerns, let’s talk.
