Course Objectives:

¨      Students will develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills to be able to communicate in a variety of scenarios.

¨      Students will learn the value of a second language as a means of personal, intellectual, and social development.

• Public speaking
• Improvisation
• Monologue
• Novel study
  • (Two of the following: C’est pas facile , Le don , Le petit prince. )
• Short story study
  • (Oral and written comprehension from various sources including the text Solstice and the Oscar winning story: L’homme qui plantait des arbres .)
• Short story writing
• Film study
• Letter of opinion
• Character portraits
• Grammar to support content
  • (Students should show a certain mastery of past tense in narration and agreement of past participles.)
  • (The conditional sentence.)
