APA STYLE - Bibliographies and Source Lists

The APA (American Psychological Association) style is  used for creating reference lists and bibliographies/source lists for essays in the sciences and social sciences (geography, sociology, economics, etc.).

Because information can be found in so many different formats -- books, magazines, newspapers, movies, television programs, etc. -- it is best to check the most current edition of The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association. It contains numerous examples of citations in correct APA style.

Kelvin High School Library has a current copy of The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association. Look for it in the Reference section under Call Number 808 PUB.  If you need assistance in finding out to how to cite a particular item, please ask Ms. Joanne Peters, Teacher-Librarian.  She will be pleased to help you find the information that you are looking for.

The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, Fourth Edition does not contain in-depth information on how to cite references from the World Wide Web (i.e web sites).  To find this information, click on the link below -- it will take you to the APA page which provides information on Internet citations.
