School Patrols
Our school patrols are on duty at
8:35 - 8:50 a.m., 11:50 a.m. - 12:05 p.m., 12:40 - 12:55 p.m. and 3:25 - 3:40 p.m..
Lunch Hour Telephone Answerers
From Monday to Thursday, the school secretaries will be available to answer the phones over the lunch hour. On Fridays, when you call over the lunch hour your call will be answered by one of our students. Students are trained by the school secretary to take messages and how to use the intercom system. A staff member is always on call during this lunch hour as well to handle any concerns.
Leadership Students
Through our Physical Education program students are chosen to be in the leadership program. These students assist the physical education program in many ways. When younger students come to the gym to work on their basic motor skills the leadership students set up the stations and act as guides for the younger students. During lunch hours when students are participating in extra-curricular activities they will be the ones setting up and refereeing the games as the physical education teacher looks on. When we have other "fun" school activities such as Summer or Winter Fun Days they are generally the students supervising the activities. Students assume this leadership role with a great deal of pride.
Conflict Managers
During our recesses and lunch hours our trained conflict managers are out on duty. They are trained by our school administration. They try to resolve student problems by getting the students together to discuss the prevailing issue. Our Parent Council which operates the Lunch Program found the program to be so effective that it is necessary for the supervisors and the lunch volunteers to know the program before they can be part of the supervisory staff.
