SMART Board Activities

Please note that all new activities (50 as of May 29, 2008) have been posted on a blog site at http://blogs.wsd1.org/iwb . The current site will be migrated to the blog server by September 2008 and all activities (old and new) will be available on the blog site at that time.

The SMART Board Learning Community will be meeting again on March 19, 2008 to create activities. Contact Educational Technology Support Services at Admin 2 for more information or to join us. Some release time is available.

The activities on this site were made by teachers in the Winnipeg School Division. Many were made by teachers in the South District and are continuing to be made by teachers division wide as part of a SMART Board Learning Community. It is difficult to present the activities in a way which portrays the richness of the learning experience that surrounds them when they are used in the classroom with students and a teacher guiding the students to discovery.

During SMART Board lessons as with all activities in the classroom there are opportunities for learning and sharing with and among students in the classroom. Students take time to assess their work and make adjustments and improvements which enhance their learning...... Assessment for Learning. Teachers are also completing ongoing observations and assessment of student learning as activities are completed.

New files are constantly being added to the website. If you find an activity that does not work or if you would like to submit an activity please notify me.
