When you look at my Science Project, I would like you to notice:
Not all drink boxes are 100% juice. They may have very little fruit juice in them. It is important to read the labels because if it says "beverage" or "cocktail" it is not 100% fruit juice. Most drinking boxes have added sugar so that it is sweet enough that kids will want to drink it. Mold grows fastest where both natural and refined sugar are present. I worked with my Mom and Dad to complete my project. It took me 45 days to complete my project.
I used the following materials to complete my project:
Fruit juice-drink boxes - 6 different kind 100% whole wheat bread, water, refined white sugar, display board, Log book
I would want you to know that:
My project did not work quite the way we thought it would. We had to look at the results and reassess what was really going on. We found out that only the drinking boxes with apple juice grew mold. Only juices that had a combination of natural and refined sugar grew mold. To Class List
