October 2007

September has passed in a blurr and we have quickly slid in to October. The whole school has been so busy. We started out with the BBQ and the opening of our newly renovated library, we quickly moved into the Fall Fundraiser and next thing you know, we were closing the books on September.

Specail thanks to Ms. Woloski who organized the Terry Fox run. She did an amazing job as always.

The Fall Fundraiser was a great success. Thanks goes out to all of the teachers for their hard work in helping us with it. As always, we couldn't have had a sucessful fundraiser without you, the parents. You are the people who help to ensure that all of the children at Inkster are able to have the extra things that make a good education great! We couldn't be as successful a school without you! Final numbers for the fundraiser will be available ot the November Parent Council meeting.

In the next few days, you will be receiving a request for your volunteer services. The Inkster
Halloween Howl is coming up on October 26th from 5:30 to 8:30 PM. We have gone back to the 3 hour dance because we found that 2 was just not long enough for all of the fun. We need your help to make this a great rockin time! Please return the forms as soon as you can. This lets us contact you early as well.

Looking even further ahead, we will need volunteers for the Inkster Craft Sale in November. The date for the 17th Annual Craft Sale is November 24th. If you have some time to help, it is always a lot of fun and a great place to get your Christmas shopping done early.

With that in mind, we also still have a couple of spaces available for crafters. If you, or someone you know is interested, contact us at 586-6719 for more information.

That's all for October!
Have a spooktacular month!

No Child Without

Dear Parents,

We have been fortunate enough to be one of the schools chosen to participate in the No Child Without Program sponsored by the Canadian MedicAlert Foundation.  This program

provides free medical identification services for children with medical conditions and special

medical needs who are between the ages of 4 and14.  There is no cost to the parent. Each child will receive a membership in MedicAlert, a wallet card, a MedicAlert bracelet and 24 hour

access to the MedicAlert Hotline.

A brochure will be coming home by the end of October, so please watch for it.  This is a great

opportunity for your children!
