Text Box: Greetings Parents and Guardians!

September has come and gone so quickly! Thanks to our fabulous staff and great children, we have had an extremely successful start to the year! Our classrooms are settled, our Library is open and busy with students learning, the Comprehensive Assessment Program is in progress and students are enjoying an active lifestyle at Inkster School with the beginning of our intramural and team sports at noon and after school. Thank-you to Mrs. Woloski and the rest of our staff for “stepping up to the plate” and volunteering their time to provide these extra activities. Together we are better!!

As you are aware, our secretary, Ms Rogers has taken a leave of absence. We would like to welcome Ms Corinne Hambleton as our new secretary. She begins her term at Inkster on October 1st. We hope that you will you stop by and
introduce yourself and make her feel at home. Thanks to Mrs. Hilton who has done a wonderful job as our interim secretary and helped us throughout this change. Thanks for your help Mrs. Hilton!

Mrs. Schultz will return from her Maternity Leave on October 2nd. Thank-you to Mr. Honer for all he has done to start the year in Room 7. You have done a great job! Good luck to you as you move on from Inkster School.

Throughout the school year we will practice our school safety procedures. We will have fire, tornado, evacuation and lock down drills to ensure everyone’s safety in the case of an emergency. Being prepared for an emergency, and knowing how to respond appropriately and calmly should one occur, helps to
reassure frightened students and staff. Information on these drills is available in the school office.

Thank-you to all of our parents who have been helping us keep our children safe! Our “Stop Drop and Go” signs have been a great success! Please
continue to follow our parking and safety guidelines and leave the Loading Zone at the front of the school open for picking up and dropping of our children. It is critical that we do the same on Lansdowne at the back of the school too! We have had some dangerous situations where children are being dropped off on both sides of the street and crossing between cars. Constable Wiley has
suggested that students exit the vehicle on the curb side and walk to the patrol
corner to cross the street. By parking in the Parking Zones, walking that extra block and having your children cross with the patrols, we can all help to keep our children safe!

As always, we ask that students keep toys and valuables safe at home. In
cooperation with the Winnipeg School Division, we are also asking students and staff to follow division policy regarding communication devices. Devices such as cell phones, personal digital assistants, video recorders and digital cameras are
