Inkster School Lunch Program

November 2007

November has arrived and with it comes the cold wet weather. We can not express to our families how important it is to ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. They require mitts and hats as well as a proper coat and foot wear that will keep them dry. It is the Division's policy that all children must go outside.

If your child is well enough to be at school, they are required to go outside. Please do not send a note asking for them to stay in. Unless they have a broken bone that requires them to remain inside (this note must be sent to the office) they will have to go outdoors.

Thank you to all of the families who supported our fundraiser. All of the money that was raised will go to help keep the cost of our healthy snack down, ensure funds for new play time equipment and help to replace the revenue that was previously raised by the canteen, cake ride and other snacks. It is our goal to keep the cost of the healthy snacks low enough that they are affordable for all of our children. We will also be sending home order forms for Christmas swags and Poinsettia's. Once we receive your order, you will receive a  certificate and can pick them up at your leisure.

We have been very pleased with the new envelope system. It has been much easier for us to track payments and send home information to our families using the envelopes. Statements will be sent out in the envelopes on the first two days of each month. Any payments received after the 30th of each month will not be reflected in that month's statement. If you have any questions about them, please call our office.

We will be running another Lunch Program Hot Lunch on November 30th. This time we are going to be doing Perogies and Chicken Nuggets. We will be preparing all of the food, including the nuggets, here at the school. Order forms will be out later in November. Watch the envelopes for the forms.

That's about all there is from around here.

As the weather is turning cooler, I also want to remind you to ensure that your child(ren) are dressed appropriately for the weather.  All students go outdoors for recess and must be dressed for the weather.

Have a warm and fuzzy November!
