November 2007

It seems hard to believe that we have already been back to school for two months. It seems like we all just walked back through the front doors. It's now less than 2 months until Christmas. Isn't that a scary thought!

Speaking of scary, we all had a great time at the Halloween Howl. I can't thank all of our volunteers enough for making the evening such a great success. It was especially nice to see many of our former students come back and help out in such a great way. It is that kind of loyalty that make all of us realize what a great school this is. Thanks also to all of the Inkster School staff that gave of their own time to help ensure that the evening was a success.

To any parent that still has a “Show & Save” book at home and has not yet paid for it, we will be sending out invoices for the outstanding $15.00 and it is your responsibility to return the book in good order or pay for it. All invoices sent out will have copies sent to the office as well.

Books not returned and unpaid, cost all of our students the extras that we work so hard to provide for them. The field trips, the new sports equipment, computer supplies, the Christmas concert and all of the other things that the fundraising money helps to provide. Please support our children’s education by doing your part..

The next major event on the schedule for Parent Council is the Craft Sale. It is November 24th. This event is always a wonderful time. It is a great place to pick up Christmas gifts and some delicious baking. If you want to be part of this fun day, we could certainly use your help. Volunteer sheets will be coming home with your children in the next few days. Even an hour of your time helps out this great cause.

Hope that November is a great month for you!

Physical Education

On Wednesday, October 3, at 11:30, Inkster students took part in an attempt to break a World Record.  Across     Canada, thousands of children and adults were walking, in an attempt to get as many people walking one kilometre at the same time.  We’re still waiting to hear whether Canada was able to break this record!

On September 27th, Inkster School participated in our annual Terry Fox Run.  Together, we raised $339.82.

Way to go Inkster!

October 5th was the grade 5 & 6 boys’ soccer tournament.  It was very cold, but the boys did a great job and had a lot of fun.  Way to go!

Mrs. Woloski’s grade 5 & 6 girls’ soccer tournament took place on Thursday, October 11th at Tyndall Park School.  It was a very cold and windy day, but the girls still kept their energy high and played hard.  They showed true teamwork and sportsmanship.  Great job girls!
