Text Box: Happy May to all of our Families!!
I would like to thank everyone who came out to our Student-Led Conferences last month! Over 90% of our families were in attendance! Thank-you for your continued support! We are better when we work together!

Congratulations to our Inkster School Science Fair winners! David, Richard, Montana, Victoria, Sarah, Michelle, Laura, Carl and Abby went to the Winnipeg School Division Science Fair and came away with medals!! We are VERY PROUD of your efforts! Keep up the great work! Congratulations to Abby who also attended the Provincial Science Fair and came away with three awards! That is an amazing feat! Continue your love for science!

Thank-you to our Parent Council for all of their work with the PAC Social Fundraiser! They did an awesome job of planning and organizing this fun event! It was unfortunate that we had such poor attendance at the social! Thank-you to those parents who supported our PAC by purchasing tickets. Your financial support helps to reduce the cost of fieldtrips and activities for our children.

We will be honoring our volunteers on Friday, May 23rd. Invitations for our Volunteer Recognition Celebration will be delivered very soon! A huge thank you to all of our wonderful and hardworking volunteers! Each and every one of you continue to help make Inkster School a vibrant and exciting place for students to learn!

May also brings many fun and educational activities and fieldtrips! It is Multi-cultural Month and each class will be learning about a different culture. We will be sharing our new knowledge at our Edu-Fair on May 28th from 3:30 – 5:30 pm. Please stop by your child’s classroom and other classrooms to find out what we have learned!

It is that time of the year again! Nursery and Kindergarten Registration time is here! If your child will be four years old before December 31, 2008, they are eligible for our Nursery Program! Children who are five years of age before December 31, 2008 are eligible for our Kindergarten Program! Bring in a Birth Certificate or Baptismal Certificate and your Manitoba Medical Card (with your current address on it) when you are registering your child. If you currently have a child in the Nursery Program at Inkster School, it is not necessary to register for Kindergarten.

I’d like to remind you that there will be no school on Friday, May 2nd due to a School-Wide 2008-2009 Planning Workshop. I’d also like to remind you that for everyone’s safety, rollerblades, skateboards and toys are not allowed at school.

Have a great month of May! Enjoy the warm weather and the sunshine!
