Call Back System A gentle reminder: It is important for parents to call the school if your child is going to be away. We want to ensure our children arrive at school safely.
Medications All medications, including cold medicine, must be given to your child at home or by a parent/guardian unless a health plan has been developed between the school administrator and the parents/guardians. Please do not send medication to school with your child, without first speaking to Mrs. Intrater.
Parking Please do not park illegally on Lansdowne, in the Staff Parking Lot or in front of the school! The safety and well-being of all of our Inkster School students is of the utmost importance.
It would be devastating if one of our children was seriously injured by a car. We implore all parents to please exercise common sense when picking up and/or dropping off your children.
Hats-Off Policy Students are not permitted to wear hats in school at any time. This year we are also encouraging all adults to please remove their hats when inside Inkster School as a sign of respect, and to enhance our behavior management policy and to develop further consistency. We appreciate your support in this area.
Home Information If at any time your HOME INFORMATION changes, please let the school know. This information is vital, in the case of an emergency when we need to contact you or your emergency contact person. Please make sure this information is always up to date in the school office.
Head Lice Please check your child’s hair on a regular basis for nits or live lice. If your child has lice, please contact the school. If lice has been found in your child’s classroom, you will be notified.
Lost and Found Box Please check the lost and found box often. Items not claimed will be sent to Good Will the second Friday of each month.
Building the Home and School Connection Students of all ages benefit when there’s a true partnership between home and school. As parents, that means getting involved and showing your child that you value his or her schoolwork, accomplishments and school life. This gives you and your child a stronger connection to your school, community and each other. Be visible by volunteering, chaperoning a class trip or joining your Parent Council. Ask questions to get your child talking about his or her school day.
Talk to your child’s teacher about your child’s strengths and what he or she needs. This can happen anytime, but Parent Teacher conferences are especially important.
Set the stage for success by giving your child a regular time, place and the tools to do homework - including
Review, but don’t do your child’s homework. Make sure he or she understands the assignment and has a plan for getting it done.
It’s more important than ever that you stay involved once your child reaches high school. Check in at your school with your children’s teachers, principal, classmates and other parents. We all have a role to play in keeping our schools strong.
No Smoking Policy at Inkster School We would appreciate your assistance in following the “NO SMOKING” policy of the Winnipeg School Division. There will be no smoking on any School Division property from 7:00 a.m.—5:30 p.m. or during school events except in the outside area that has been so designated. |
