January Primary News
We hope you all had a restful holiday season. The children did an amazing job performing at the winter concert. A great big hand goes to all the children and staff for their hard work and dedication. A special thank you to Ms. Peters, our music teacher, for an amazing performance!
January often feels like a long month since it’s too cold to spend time outdoors. Here’s a game you can play to pass the time with your child.
Game: Who Has the Highest? Material: deck of cards Players: 2
Nursery, Kindergarten, Grade 1 Hand out the cards. Each player turns over 1 card and says the number. The person with the highest number keeps the cards.
Grade 1,2 Same as above but each player turns over 2 cards eg. 3 and 5 makes the numeral 35.
Grade 2,3 Turn over 3 cards to make 3 digit numerals. Remember “246” would be read as “two hundred forty-six” (no and ).
Here’s a Wish for the World from some of the Primary children:
We wish … the world had peace We wish... no one would litter We wish... everyone had food We wish… everyone had someone to love
Sincerely, The Primary Team Ms. Ambaram, Mrs. Wuersch-Gowryluk, Mrs. Idone, Mr. Preyma, Ms. Robson, Ms. Cabral and Mr. Yanofsky

It was wonderful to see so many people at the Winter Concert. We are looking forward to a busy and exciting winter term at school. A big Thank You to everyone who brought in food items and money in December. Working with the Christmas Cheer Board, as a school we were able to put together two hampers for families.
Please keep track of the dates of volleyball practices and tournaments this month.
