December Music News

November was an exciting month in the Music Room: our Intermediate and Honor Choirs helped lead the                    Remembrance Day Assembly and did a fabulous job!  Inkster Intermediate Choir also did a wonderful job of representing Inkster School at Choralfest on November 19.  The choir sang well, feedback from our adjudicators was positive and student behaviour was exemplary, making it a successful experience for everyone.

Our Primary students have been learning some songs, poems and movement – ask them about the Figaro song and to show you the moves for our “Sidewalk” poem.

All classes have begun Winter Concert preparations.  Our theme is “Gifts of the Season”.

Nursery, Kindergarten, Gr. 1, Gr. 2: Tuesday, December 18, 7:00.  (Students arrive 6:45).

Gr. 3,4,5,6: Wednesday, December 19, 7:00.  (Students arrive 6:45).

Allergy Alert

We have a number of children at Inkster School who have a severe allergy to nut products.  Even exposure to a tiny amount of a nut product could be very serious and life threatening.

We can all play a role in preventing such a dangerous and frightening situation at school.  Although our children who have severe nut allergies and their families must take responsibility to avoid exposure to nuts and nut products, Inkster School staff, other children and their families can also help to make the Inkster School environment safer.

Please check the list of ingredients on items you send to school.

Avoid sending peanuts or items containing nuts with your child to school.

Discourage your child from sharing lunch or snack foods at school.

Teach your children to respect this very serious situation; discourage teasing or threatening of children

               with serious allergies.

This may be an inconvenience for you, but please realize how important your cooperation is.  We would take the same care should your child have such a health care need.  Thank you for your cooperation.  For more information, please call me at your convenience.

Call Back System

A gentle reminder:  It is important for parents to call the school if your child is going to be away.  We want to ensure our children arrive at school safely.
