This is my article and Im Sticking to it
Music. It is a form of entertainment which can be receive in sound waves. There are many different kinds of music. There is the hip hop/rap, the good ol’ country, the teeny pop, heavy metal, R & B, and the profound tune of alternative.
All these types of music have meaning in them. Rap deals with getting shot, or having many women at once, riding on a Benz, or selling drugs or doing drugs. That’s typical rap for you. The people that do rap talk about living in ‘hood’ and surviving. I think it has got boring. I would like to see someone new in the rap business that does something different, like Slim Shady (Eminem). Country music is about being heart broken or driving in a Chevrolet truck. Country is too week for us Generation X’ers. Pop is teeny bopper music. Pop songs are all love music. I think its just pathetic, that’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it. Life isn’t all about love and peace, and music doesn’t have to be that way too. I think pop songs are sending messages that makes us kids vulnerable. Heavy metal is too old, nuff said. R & B is like pop but with a different rhythm, and it always talks about having sex and driving a Bentley while making out at the same time. It is horribly repetitive. Then there is the Alternative, which deals with everything. The musician themselves are pretty unique. There are the Marilyn Mansons (I have no problem with him), Powerman 5000, I’m not sure weather their alternative or metal, but they’re cool. Then there comes one of my favorite band NIN (Nine Inch Nails), they absolutely genius. But there are the bands that put out something new. People always say that rap is black, and rock is white. Well that’s all different now because of Rage Against The Machine, Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock, some of Everlast’s songs and the one and only Korn, just to name a few that mixes rap and rock together. I like alternative because it deals with real things. From being depressed, feeling like a ‘Freak on a Leash’ (Korn), and it also tells you how it feels ‘When Worlds Collide’ (Powerman 5000), because we don’t know ‘What’s it like’ (Everlast). Sometimes we just go crazy and start saying ‘Bawitdaba’ (Kid Rock). You may feel alone and different because no one likes alternative, don’t worry ‘We’re In This Together Now’ (NIN).
To me music is a form of expressing your feelings. You can express it by making or listening to music. And for some it may define the way they think.
Some of what I said may offend you, but its my opinion and in sticking to it. And if all of what I wrote doesn’t make sense, just think I’m the one who wrote this article and I don’t even know what this is about.
