Greenway School Patrols
organizes and supervises the patrol program.

Every year, there are about 60 patrols for Greenway School.
They are divided up into 3 teams. Team A and B go on alternate days at 8:40 a.m. ,
12:00 p.m. , and 3:30 p.m. Team D goes on every day, but only at 12:40
p.m. A patrol's duties at Greenway School are to help children cross the street
safely and make sure nothing dangerous happens to them. Patrols walk students home
when they're sick or have to get something.
There are many benefits of being a
patrol! In November, December, January, and February, on very cold days, Mr.
Vermeylen will give the patrols hot chocolate to drink when they come in to the school
from their posts. In February, all of the patrols get to go to Le Festival du
Voyageur and get to do various activities there. About twice a year, the patrols go
on a trip to a roller skating rink. Once a year, the patrols go bowling. The
four grade six captains and four grade five very good patrols go to McDonald's for
breakfast. Afterwards, they get a tour of the back rooms there.
