Kappen
Long ago, there lived five girls that lived in a valley. They were going to a planet called Kappen, because the United Nations wanted some people to explore for natural resources. A letter came from N.A.S.A. saying they needed five girls/boys. Samantha, Jane, Cherry, Ann, and Cindy are their names.
They were going to leave on January 1st, 2005. They would travel for five months, two months to explore, and five months to get back to Earth. That is a total of one whole year.
They gathered and they prepared themselves. They packed food that they would need to eat.
Later that day, they took off and a lot of people were there counting down.
Their journey was a long time and very hard. They had to put seat belts on while they were sleeping. They couldn’t eat in a normal way. They had to eat out of tubes. They floated about and it was really hard for them to use the washroom. They couldn't take a shower for five months, but they got used to it.
When they arrived there, they prepared themselves, so the girls go outside. They didn't know what to do at first. This planet reminded them of something familiar. It looked exactly like planet Earth.
The next day, Jane and Cherry went outside first. After forty-five minutes they went back inside and then, Samantha, Ann, and Cindy went outside. They saw rivers, oceans, trees, flowers, and grass except there were no people. They picked up rocks and some stones for them to take back. They had a lot of fun and they enjoyed jumping in the grass because they can jump really high on this planet because Kappen has less gravity. The day after, they looked through telescopes to see other planets.
''They are amazing!'' they said. Cherry, Samantha, Jane, Cindy and Ann explored a little more. When they were walking, they saw a big horrible Thing outside. It had four eyes, three legs, and two arms. It started to chase after them! Cherry got left behind because she was enthraled by the Thing. They all ran into the space ship, except for Cherry because she tripped on a rock and sprained her ankle. They locked the door and hid in a secret place. Half and hour later, they all came out except for Cindy, because she was going to prepare the food they were going to eat. They looked all over the place but they couldn't find Cherry anywhere. Jane said ''It is impossible to find her.'' and it really was. An hour after, the girls came back and told Cindy everything and everywhere they searched for her. They only had two days left before they had to go, so for two days when they wake up, they would look for her. The day after the next day, they found Cherry. They went back home with her.
In the days they were traveling back home. They were so happy.
When they got back, they all reported what had happened to them. They told the United Nations that people can live there. There are trees just like Earth and they have fish that swim in the oceans and seas that was there. Kappen had very nice weather. They don’t have to wear space suits because it was just like Earth. The United Nations said that they will send a lander and a rover to take some more pictures.
