Kappen
by
Aliza Fernandez Today we are preparing to leave for planet Kappen. It is the year 2005. It will take us five months to get there and five months to get back. With me I am taking my friends Kim, Samantha, and Whistle, my dog. If we don't complete this mission the Earth may be in a lot of trouble without enough natural resources. This may happen within five years time because each year we lose more and more of our natural resources. Now the spaceship has been launched into space. The Earth is depending on this exploration. We'll have to wait a long time to get to Kappen. Right now it feels like I'm a bird. Floating around in the spaceship is kind of fun. The Earth seems like it's shrinking as we get further away. Five months have passed and now we have landed on Kappen. Earth and Kappen have some similarities and some differences. Like the trees and the grass. Wow! Samantha and Kim have found a portal. We are entering the portal and it looks like it leads to a new world. There are some strange creatures here. Some with two or more eyes, and some with antennae. Some with just one eye, and some are as round as a ball. Here is another portal Whistle found. This world is dark. The ground is covered in skulls and other bones. I'm scared. Let's get out of here. We'll come back some other time. One week has passed and we have entered the dark world once again. What? Something seems to be approaching us. Uh-oh! It looks like it's going to attack. Ouch! It bit me. Wait! Whistle, don't bite back! Too late! Let's get out of here before we run into more trouble. We're heading back to the ship for some rest. Huh? The door won't open! It's stuck on the count of three charge the door. 1... 2... 3! Oh my gosh! It looks like a hurricane struck here. And... sniff... eeew! What's that stench? It smell's like skunk. Ah! That's because there is a skunk. Well more like a mutant skunk with seven eyes. Three on the left, three on the right, and one on the top. Shoo! Go away! Good, it's gone. What are we going to do about this mess and that smell? Let's start cleaning this place up. Wow! It's a comet, and-OH NO. It's heading in our direction! What about the ship? Nooo! BOOM! That's the end of that part of our spaceship. Let's see how much of the ship was damaged. Well, just about half of the ship was completely destroyed. Now how are we going to get home? That's strange. That's strange someone's knocking on the door. Well, this is a surprise. It seems that a gigantic creature has come to our rescue. It seems that it is giving us its own ship. But we still have to find the natural resources. We only have three weeks left to explore. So let's go. Hey look over there. It looks like water. It looks so beautiful in the sunlight. And the trees are so tall. At least, about one hundred feet tall. Well, I think that we have found what we were looking for. We are now heading back home in the ship that the kind creature gave us. Too bad we didn't get his name. Hey, there's a note on the control panel. It says, "I hope to see you again. Maybe you could come visit me. Hope the ship works fine. Have a safe trip back! Your friend, Zardip." Well Zardip, thank you very much. The ship works well too. We have returned back to earth. We have reported to the United Nations that we found natural resources in the eastern part of Kappen. Now we are at the ceremony and we have received medals as a token of appreciation. Except for Whistle, she got a gold bone. THE END |
