The Potlatch Feast

By Tony and Jonny

Sometimes it takes a couple of years to plan a Potlatch. The host prepares the food because they are the one who wants the Potlatch. There can be up to 1000 guests at each Potlatch. When a Potlatch begins they prepare and serve all kinds of food. They eat salmon and halibut. They're both a kind of fish. Ooligans are served at a Potlatch and are one of the guests' favorite foods. That is a kind of fish too. In a Potlatch they also eat clams, Indian fry bread, corn on the cob, potato salad, berry pies, herring eggs, seaweed and venison. Venison is a kind of deer. It is a rule at a Potlatch that if you are invited to a Potlatch you have to invite the hosts to your Potlatch.
