Making a Button Blanket

The first step is to decide who should make the design on the Button Blanket. A family member draws a design of an animal for the family crest.
Then the mom buys red and dark blue or black wool fabric. She also buys over 300 shell buttons.
After that, the wool gets measured and cut for a robe. Then someone in your family sews red wool around three sides for a border.
Then when the crest is done, a family member sews the crest on the dark blue or black wool.
Next, lots of shell buttons are sewn on the red wool to make a pattern.
The last thing you do is sew on some buttons around the animal crest.
