The location of the Taj Mahal is in Agra in northern India. The Taj Mahal is made of white marble and rests on a platform red sandstone. The height of the Taj Mahal is 36.6 metres. The interesting facts are Mumtaz Mahal died in 1629. The bodies of Shah Jahan and his wife lie in a vault below. At each corner of the platform stands a slender minert (prayer tower).
