Flin Flon was named after Josiah Flintabbety Flonatin who was the hero of a dime novel. The dime novel was found over 80 years ago by six prospectors looking for gold in the area of present day Flin Flon.
This statue was designed by Al Capp, he cartoonist who also created the L'il Abner comic.
