This is an example of an Inuit applique wall hanging by Normee Ekoomiak. It is made with felt applique and embroidery. It shows people tossing a woman in the air. This was important to the Inuit because this was one kind of game they played and it made them stronger.
This is my applique wall hanging. I made it by drawing a picture and then tracing it on the felt. Then I cut it out and sewed it on some fleece. It shows a polar bear walking on thin ice. I made it because the polar bear taught the Inuit how to fish and catch seals. by Bianca |
