Inuit art By Taylor
This is my mask. I made it by carving and painting it. It shows a wolf spirit. I made it because wolves are related to dogs. Wolves teach Inuit how to hunt.
This is an example of an Inuit sculpture by Paul Irngaut. It is made with stone, ivory, and black coloring. It shows an inukshuk with a hawk and a lemming. This is important to the Inuit because if the Inuit get lost, they'll look for the inukshuk.
This is my amulet. I made it by carving soapstone with a file. I polished it with sandpaper. I rubbed it with my hand. It shows an inukshuk. I made it because if the Inuit are lost, they could look for the inukshuk.
This is my wall hanging. I made it by sewing felt on a cloth. It shows a whale. I made it because Inuit people eat the whale.
This is my engraving. I made it by coloring a crayon on the back of my picture. It shows an owl. I made it because owls protect them.
