Fast Facts About Igloos By Natalie, Lawrence and Nevin Igloo means home. It is dome shape and it doesn't have any posts and beams .It is built this way because there is more room. It is built out of snow blocks. The materials are made out of snow and it takes two hours to build an igloo. Inside an igloo there is one big room and it has a dish and an oil lamp. It is warm inside and the snow keeps the cold out of the igloos. Because there are no trees in Nunavut, the Inuit people used snow to build their homes. Inuit people used tools to build igloos and the tools were: a snow knife, snow pro, snow shovel and hands. When it was winter the igloos were built but now the igloos are only built when Inuit go hunting or teaching their children. Inuit people do not live in igloos now. They live in modern homes like us.
