Polar Bear Habitat The Arctic Habitat is treeless and it grows flowers and grasses in its very short summers. It's called the Arctic tundra . The soil is frozen 30 deep even at the summers, and you could get a blizzard. The temperature doesn't get high in the summer. Appearance It has white fur, black, nose, black eyes, small tail, wide paws, and it is very big . Adaptations The thick layer of fat and dense coat of underfur helps it keep warm. It has sharp claws and teeth to help it hunt. It has wide paws that help it to swim. Interesting Facts While hunting the mother polar bear keeps its cub on her back . It can swim 95 km. It can go for weeks without eating. It can swim under water. Food The polar bear eats seals, fish, berries, seaweed, grass, eggs, garbage and sometimes whale meat and carrion.
