Polar Bear Arctic Habitat It's called the arctic tundra because it's so close to the north pole. The arctic is treeless. There is grass in the arctic. There are lots of flowers, too. It can be hot in summer. The arctic habitat is found in Canada, Alaska, Europe and Asia. Appearance The polar bear has white fur. It has a black nose and has black eyes. They can be 1 1/2 to 3 1/2 metres long. It has sharp claws and has a small tail. Food The polar bear eats seals, fish, berries, seaweed, grass, eggs, garbage, carrion and walrus. Its favourite food is seal. Enemies The polar bears enemies are people. Adaptations The thick layer of fat keeps it warm and so does its dense underfur. It has warm fur. It likes the cold. It has wide paws to help it swim. They have a good sense of smell. It has webbed feet for swimming long distances. Interesting Facts The polar bear keeps its cub on its back. It can kill a seal with one blow with its powerful paws. Its food comes from Arctic water. It can swim 95 km. without resting and stay underwater for 2 minutes.
