Arctic Wolf Arctic Habitat You can see polar bears, seals, and walruses. It's cold even in the summer. There's icebergs. It's treeless there. It's flat. It's called the arctic tundra. It's icy there. It looks white and bright there. The water is very cold. There are blizzards. There are flowers there. There are grasses. The soil is frozen 30 cm. deep even in the summer. It's called permafrost. Little trees called dwarf trees are found in Canada, Alaska, Europe and Asia. It's called the arctic tundra because it's so close to the north pole. It's covered by snow more than half a year. The temperature doesn't get high in summer. It has very long summer days there. Appearance of the Arctic Wolf The arctic wolf has a black nose, thick fur, round ears, sharp claws, sharp teeth and looks very fierce. Foods The arctic wolves favourite foods are: the ptarmigan, caribou, lemmings, deer and arctic hares. Enemies The arctic wolf's enemies are: the musk oxen, people and the polar bear. Adaptations The arctic wolf's thick fur keeps it warm in the winter. The arctic wolf's wolf pups are born in summer. Interesting Facts When the wolf's tail is up that means attack.
