Arctic Wolf Habitat There are lots of flowers and grass in the summer. The polar bears hunt for food in the summer to survive in the winter. The summer is very short at the arctic. It warms up in the summer. The Inuit hunt for food in the summer and eat it raw. It's called the arctic tundra because it's so close to the north pole. The soil is frozen every day and every year even if you try dig 30 cm deep it would be frozen. It is white and bright every day except for summer. The water there is so cold that if you try to swim you would be cold in two seconds. There are lots of ice-bergs at the arctic. It is treeless in the arctic. Seals can swim in cold water because it has blubber. Appearance The Arctic wolf has white fur. TheArctic wolf has pointy ears. It's a big animal. It can be different colours like white, grey or black. It has sharp claws. It has short legs. It looks like a German Shepherd. It has big feet. It has long teeth. Interesting Facts Sometimes wolves take turns chasing an animal until their prey is too tired to run anymore. On the occasions they force their prey into places from which there is no escape. It lives in a den under ground. Enemies Their enemies are people, bears and other wolves. Foods The Arctic wolf eats caribou carcasses, caribou, ptarmigan and lemmings. It also eats ground squirrels and it sometimes eats baby musk oxens. Adaptations It travels in packs. It raises it`s pups in a hole. It protects the pups. By Joshua |
