Polar Bear

Arctic Habitat

In the Arctic if you were standing on earth you woud be standing on pack ice. In the arctic the winters are short. Summer lasts about a month or two. You see animals like polar bears, seals and walruses. Some other things you see are icebergs and snow.

Appearance

The polar bear has a dark nose, lips, eyes and tongue. Its fur is white. It has big paws with sharp, long,black claws. The polar bear can see from a long distance with its sharp eyes. Polar bears are more than 3 three metres long. Younger bears have white fur: older bears have yellow fur. Polar bears have small round ears and little tail.

Food

The polar bear eats seals, berries in the summer and fish.

Enemies

The polar bears only natural enemies are people.

Adaptations

The polar bear adapts to the cold with its heavy coat. They have keen eyesight which helps them search for the seals.

Interesting Facts

It cuddles its cubs in its warm fur. The mother feeds the cubs rich milk. It takes years of training before the cubs can live on their own. If the cubs went outside when they're first born they would not survive because their white fur is too short.
