Answer the following questions in complete sentence. Please note that several questions have a choice of answering choice a or b. Only answer one of the choices. You will not be given extra points if you answer both. If both options are answered the first choice answered will be marked.

  2. a. Describe the effects alcohol has on a fetus.

  1. Discuss the 3 stages of labour. (9 marks)
  2. Describe the physical abilities of a newborn. (10 marks)
  3. a. List the physical development of a 9-12 month old baby

            b. List the physical development of a 3-6 month old baby (3 marks)

  1. a. Desicuss 4 things parents-to-be can do to reduce the incidence of SIDS,

or

b. Discuss 4 things parents can do to reduce the risk of SIDS in their infant. (4 marks).

  1. Discuss 5 ways of coping with a crying infant (5 marks)
  2. List the symptoms, treatment and prevention of Chlamydia, syphilis and pubic lice. (9 marks)
  3. List 4 basic methods of birth control, five an example of each, describe the example and provide the benefits and disadvantages of each. (20 marks)
  4.  a. Discuss 5 things you have learned this year.
    1. Eg. The female ovary has 500,000 eggs but only 500 ripen and mature. The size of an egg is approximately the size of a pin head.

or

    1. Create a daily menu for a pregnant woman (breakfast, lunch, supper and  3 snacks. (15 marks).
