FLEX APPLICATION PORTFOLIO PIECE

As a part of the application to the Flexible Learning Program, students are asked to compile a portfolio containing the items listed below. Students will be marked based on the rubric provided.

PURPOSE:

  • To see concrete samples of the students’ skills and abilities.
  • To get a better picture of the student.
  • Help students and parents make an informed decision about entering into the Flexible Learning Program at G. P. H. S.

YOUR PORTFOLIO MUST INCLUDE:

  • Title page
  • Table of contents
  • Reflection pieces on 3 items of student work
  • For the reflection pieces, some questions you may want to answer are:
    • Why did you complete the assignment?
    • What did you learn by completing this assignment?
    • Why did you select this piece for your portfolio?
    • How have you improved since completing this work?
  • Evidence of teamwork skills in any area (what has been your contribution to a group or team?)
  • Extra-curricular involvement (both in or out of school)

Please keep the reflection piece length to about half (1/2) a page. The purpose of this is to get your opinion on the work you included.

  • SAMPLES & MANDATORY CONTENT

Minimum one (1) item from each category:

  • Parent application checklist
  • Copy of your most recent report card
  • English/Language Arts
