Ice Pirates

It was another exciting hockey season for the Ice Pirates. Following their championship season of 2006/07, the other teams were gunning for the boys in blue. The team finished the regular season with a record of 13 wins and 9 losses landing them in 5th place. It was on to the playoffs where the Ice Pirates lost in the quarter-finals, 2 games to 1 to the St. Norbert Celtics.

Thanks to the coaching staff which included: Mr. Macleod, Mr. Fontaine, Mr. Chepil and alumnus Matt Varnes.

Special Congratulations to league all-stars Matt Lercher and Brock Gruhn and to league award winner Matt Lercher who took home the Travis Price Spirit Award and Jesse Garber who won the league scoring title.

At our Athletic Awards Banquet, the following members were honoured for their accomplishments: Brett Lercher won the Rookie of the Year, Will Imlah was selected Most Sportsmanlike, Michael Bellan caputed Hardes Working Player and Matt Lercher won the Most Valuable Player Award.

Finally, to our graduating players who have been such a big part of the Ice Pirates, Matt Lercher, Michael Bellan, Brock Gruhn, Jessee Garber and Will Imlah-THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!
