MDAG is designed to provide support for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered and Two-Spirited students in the publis school system in Manitoba and encourage activism surrounding the LGBT issues.

The group was started by students at Kelvin High School in response to opposition to the anti-homophobia education initiative introduced in the Winnipeg School Division in the late 1990's. The group meets approximately every six to eight weeks during the school year. The last two years, Grant Park High School has served as the host school for the meetings.

A typical meeting has some "icebreaker" activity to introduce everyone, a discussion around a topic and/or a short video followed by discussion, planning for the future, informal discussion & snacks!
