Jennifer Robinson

Why I Chose to Research About Jennifer Robinson

I chose to research about Jennifer because she skates for Canada and she

has placed 8th in the 2000 World Championships.

About Jennifer Robinson

Jennifer was born Dec.2, 1976. Jennifer is 25 years old. Jennifer’s weight is

55kg or 121 lbs. Since 1995 Jennifer has been competing at senior-level

events. On Feb.19, 2002 Jennifer placed 8th at the 2000 World

Championships. It was the best a Canadian ladies figure skater had placed at

the World Championships or Olympic Winter Games since Josee Chouinard

placed fifth at the 2001 World Championships that was held in front of a

home crowd in Vancouver,Canada. Jennifer placed 15 th for touching the ice

three times. She says the probem was not the hometown pressure, but the

pressure she put on herself to improve her ranking from the previous year.

On Feb.19, 2002 Jennifer placed 8 th at the 2002 Olympics. She wore a

pock-a-dotted skirt and a black shirt.

Training and Music

Entering the 2001-2002 competitions, Jennifer had won four Canadian senior

national titles, including three in a row from 1999-2001. At the World Junoir

Championships in 1994 Jennifer placed 10th. Jennifer’s coach is Michelle

and Doug Leigh. The skating school that Jennifer goes to is called the

Mariposa School of skating in Barrie,Canada. Jennifer’s choreographer is

Lori Nichol. The music for Jennifer’s Olympic short program is Alfred

Newman’s “Street Scene”. “Street Scence” was the frist piece of music

Jennifer listened to for her short progam. Nichol was wary of picking the

music so quickly, but Jennifer insisted.
