Having books in the home is a very important part of student learning.  We are encouraging you to enjoy the books your child brings home this year.  We have books for student loan from the classroom and the school library.  In order to get the most for the taxpayer’s dollar, students are responsible for taking care of the books they borrow.  Students are expected to bring books back to school on time and in good condition.  Students are expected to take responsibility for any losses or damage to school books, both in the library and the home reading program.  Parents will be held responsible for any student damage and loss.  Depending on the book this could be anywhere from $5.00 and up.

Physical Education Student / Leadership Program

In this program, leadership means having an intentional positive influence on the lives and behaviours of others.

Students chosen for this group should be in grade 5 or 6, demonstrate that they are responsible, reliable, dependable, committed, well-organized and a team worker.  They will become responsible for decisions which have a real influence on others.

The skills they develop through this program will apply in many other situations throughout their lives.

Some of the student responsibilities include organizing and implementing the intramural program, writing up morning announcements, equipment organization, computer data processing and organizing special events and activities (such as Winter Fun Day).

Students will meet with the physical education teacher on a regular basis.  The Leadership group will be chosen early in September.

Intramural Program
