Perception

Craig and Randy

Problem: What is the effect of gender on perception.

Hypothesis: We believe gender has an effect on perception.

Materials: equal amount of boys and girls, visual perception fooler, paper and pen

Procedure:

1) First we would make the visual perception eye fooler

2) We would go up to a student (12-15) and ask them what they saw

3) Record results

4) Repeat steps 1-3 with every student

Observations: At first the boys and girls were the same in answer correctly but as we tested more people the boys started to answer them more than the girls.

Conclusion: In the boys at our age have a better ability to notice things than girls. Through study we learned that a boy's brain develops slower thus enabling them to notice better because they must "study" the object(s). Also the girls are really bright at this age.

Application: In real life teachers may use these tests to see where their students are in reading. it can help us as individuals to read more carefully instead of just skimming through.
