Air Pollution

By. Chenming & Michael

Problem: What is the effect of garbage on the amount of pollution it produces?

Hypothesis: We hypothesized that Styrofoam would leave the most residue on the mirco-slides.

Procedure: We put materials onto a burner and burned it. Above the material, we placed a micro-slide to collect the pollution and recorded our results.

Observation: We observed that different materials burned faster, some left an uncomfortable odor, some were burnt, produces lots of smoke.

Conclusion: We conclude that rubber produced the most residue on the micro-slide.

IF WE WERE TO DO THIS PROJECT OVER, WE WOULD:

-use different kinds of garbage to see the amount of pollution it would produce.

-try to discover a more accurate way to measure the amount of pollution.

-have a more organized log book.

APPARATUS:

The purpose of this project is to show society how burning garbage can effect and damage the environment.
