Project name: The colour blue

We did our project to see if putting food colouring

in plants would effect the plants colour and growth

Problem:

What is the effect food colouring on plants and the growth of the plants

Hypothesis:

We hypothesize that the plants in the most sunlight will change colour

Materials:

Peat pellets, water, seeds, food colouring, 3 tuber, water jug, plant fertilizer,1 glue stick, 1 binder and 1 roll of tape

Procedure:

Step#1- Gather Materials

Step#2- Soak peat pellets in warm water and then wait till it expands (1 to 1/2 inches)

Step#3- Plant 2 kinds of each seed in the centre of 6 pellets

Step#4- Put 2 kinds of each seed in each of the tuber wear

Step#5- Put 1 tuber wear in a little sunlight, 1 in the medium sunlight and 1 in the most sunlight

Step#6- Observe the plant

Step#7- Repeat step 6 everyday

Step#8- Water plants when soil is dry

Observations:

We observed that the most sunlight had an effect on how the plants obsorbed the water that had the food colouring. The plants in the most sunlight died because of the obsorbtion.

Conclusion:

We accept our hypothesis because it tells us that the sunlight obsorbs the water with food colouring the fastest.

Our quote for our Science Fair

At the end of our project we found out that the food colouring

effected the growth of our plants a lot.
