Some Info On Our Project

TiTlE: Heart Rate Vs. Music

pRoBlEm: What type of music slows your heart rate and what type of music makes your heart rate faster?

HyPoThEsIs: We believe the slow jams will slow your heart rate and the rap songs will increase your heart rate.

mAtErIaLs:

1) 4 people (2 guys and 2 girls)

2) CD player

3) CD's (slow jams, rap, and pop)

4) calculator

5) paper and pencil to write down data

MeThOd:

step 1) Gather a bunch of friends.

step 2) Tell the first person to take their pulse for 10 seconds.

step 3) Give them the CD player and play the first type of music.

step 4) After, they finish the first type of music, they repeat step #2

step 5) Multiply the heart rate by six and continue step 3 and 4 until they finish listening to all the types of music.

step 6) Get every person to do step 2, 3, 4, and 5.

step 7) Get all the data and put it into a graph.

oBsErVaTiOn/dAtA: After the experiment we found out that some people's heart rate went higher while they were listening to different types of music.

Kirstie - Her heart rate increased while she was listening to the pop song and her heart rate increased again while she was listening to the rap and the slow song.

Jane - Her heart rate increased while she was listening to the pop and rap song. Her heart rate went down while she was listening to the slow song.

Randy - When he was listening to the pop song his heart rate decreased. But when he was listening to the pop and rap song his heart rate increased.

Mike - His heart rate decreased when he was listening to the pop song and decreased again when he was listening to the rap song. When he was listening to the slow song, his heart rate decreased by six.

CoNcUlsIoN: This science fair project is unfair because the experiment doesn't make any sense. Certain people like certain kind of music and it also depends on their age. When we did the experiment, we didn't make sure if the place we were doing our experiment was a good place to do it because there were a lot of distractions. If we were going to this experiment again, we would make sure that the experiment had to be somewhere that we won't be any distractions.

aPpLiCaTiOn: You can never tell whether you like the music or not by the person's heart rate and that's what changes your life.
