As you can see the name of my project is DRINK UP!!! I am very proud of my little project. It was a gold medal winner and I can see why. I worked pretty hard on this little project,
I'll tell you about my little project. I have worked long and hard on it. It is a survey project. I did a survey project this year because the judge that judged my science fair project last year told me that I would get an even better mark if I had done a survey project.
My survey project is on coke since many people enjoy the pop. I bought four different brands of coke: Coca cola, Pepsi, Safeway Select, and President's choice. First I decided to choose ten people from each age category in the school: Grades 7-9. I blind fold them then I make them guess what brand of coke they are tasting. I give them the coke in no particular order. If they have a second guess, then the second guess wouldn't count!

Problem

How many of the 10 grades seven, eights and nines can tell four types of coke apart?

Hypothesis

Only five people out of the thirty people will guess each brand of coke correctly.

Materials

-30 paper cups

 

-4 brands of coke

 

-10 grade 7's

 

-10 grade 8's

 

-10 grade 9's

 

-1 Blind fold

Method

Step #1: Get all of the supplies

Step #2: Get the grade sevens.

Step # 3: Test the grade sevens one at a time.

Step # 4: Blind fold the subject and give them a sample of the drinks one at a time (one cup of coke at a time).

Step # 5: Tell them to guess which brand of coke do they think it is. Only write down there first guess if they said something different the second time.

Step # 6: Test the other grade seven waiting.

Step # 7: Repeat each step to the grade eights and the grade nines.

 

Observation

- 1 Grade seven guessed all brands correctly.

- None of the grade eights guessed all of the brands correctly.

- 1 Grade nine guessed all of the brands correctly.

 

Conclusion

I reject my Hypothesis.

 

Application

Most of the people I tested did not let there taste sense interperate what there tasting. I reccommend for people to wait for their taste sense to interperate what there tasting first!!
