Hello and thanx for coming to our page about our

SCIENCE FAIR PROJECT on EVAPORATION...
hope you like it!!! ;þ...

Our names are Kirstie and Bonibelle.
We are both in the seventh
grade and attend General Wolfe Junior High School.

:

..Problem..
Which liquid (salt water, water, orange juice,
vinegar, soy sauce and 7up) would evaporate
the most in three days?

..Hypothesis..
We think that the water would evaporate the
most since it's light and there's nothing
in it. We also think that the orange juice
would evaporate the slowest because it's thick and has pulp.

..Apparatus..
- Liquids (salt water, water, orange juice,
vinegar, soy sauce and 7up)
- 6 Cups
- A Heated Room
- A Ruler
- Permanent Marker

..Method..
1. Mark a line inside of the cup (indicating
the amount of liquid going to be put in.
2. Pour the liquid into the cups (up to the line).
3. Put the cups into the heated room.
4. Write down the time the cups were
put in the room.
5. Leave the cups in the room for three days.
6. After three days take the cups.
7. Take the ruler and measure the distance from
the line to the liquid for each cup.
8. Check which liquid evaporated the most and
the least.

Data / Observations..
We noticed that the orange had evaporated the
most by 3mm. The water, 7up, and vinegar evaporated
by 1mm. The soy sauce and the salted water did not
evaporate at all.

..Conclusion..
We reject our hypothesis. The water did not
evaporate the most/fastest. We were also wrong
about the orange juice evaporating the least/slowest.

..Application..
It will significantly change our lives by knowing
that we shouldn't leave orange juice in a heated room
for over three days because it will evaporate.
