	A long time ago beavers made a dam and the other beavers laughed at them. Beaver said, "I will go to my grandma and ask how to make a better dam than the other beavers.
So Beaver went to his Grandpa and asked how to make a better dam than the other beavers. His Grandpa asked, "Why do you want to make a better dam than the other beavers?"
Beaver said, "They made fun of my dam so I will show them the best dam they ever saw." "O.K. I will let you in on the little secret," whispered Grandpa. After Beaver learned the secret he went and built a better dam.
	Beaver was in such a hurry that he made a mistake. All the work made Beaver tired, so he went in his new dam and went to bed. While he was sleeping the new dam broke and one of the logs fell on his tail and flattened it.
	So that is why Beavers tails are flat.

	The brick red polar bear was walking around the north pole. The polar bear saw some people. The people wanted to play a trick on the polar bear, so the people called the polar bear and they pretended to be barbers.
	When the polar bear came to the people, they asked, "Do you want a hair cut?" The Polar Bear answered, "Yes, please." When the bear said yes the people said, "You have to put a blind fold on."
The people explained, "We're going to get the scissors and some water to wet your fur."
But, the people really took some white paint and poured it over the bear.
	The bear went home and tried to shower the paint off. It did not work. He thought he would just keep his fur white. He knew it would be good camouflage when he was in the snow. That is why all polar bears have white fur.

	Many years ago beavers had a round and fat tail.
	One day a beaver was chewing on a tree trunk. He had to chew one more tree down so he did.
The beaver was talking to the fox instead of looking at what he was doing.
It was too late. The tree fell on the beaver's tail. He didn't feel it at all.
	The fox laughed so that everybody in the forest could hear him and the animals laughed with him.
	The beaver went home and his children said, "You have a flat tail, Dad."
His wife came home and shouted, "Oh my, you have a flat tail." "Yes," said the beaver. "A tree fell on my tail and made it flat." That is why all beavers have flat tails.

	A hundred years ago turtles had no shells so they looked like lizards.
	Well, a turtle was on the beach. It was a stormy night and it started to rain.
The turtle got under the rock and the rock was just the right size.
The turtle went to sleep. The next morning the turtle awoke with the rock on his back.
	The turtle did not take the shell off. He left it on because he could not take it off. He had no help.
	That is why turtles have shells.
