PHYSICAL EDUCATION GOALS AND OBJECTIVES 

2008 -2009

GOALS:

1.     To develop an understanding of physical well-being – “A healthy body is a healthy mind”.

2.     To develop positive social interactions through a variety of physical  activities.

3.     To develop a skill base that will ensure that our students remain active and healthy throughout their lives.

4.     To develop safety and survival practices:

a)    behave safely and responsibly

b)    dress appropriately for physical activity

   5.     To express ideas, thoughts and feelings with confidence through physical activity.

   6.     To understand that basic motor skills are used in performing 

physical activity.

 

OBJECTIVES:

1.     To provide a positive, safe environment in which to learn, and to develop a sense of self confidence and self-esteem.

2.     To provide a wide variety of activities at class, intramural

and interscholastic levels.

3.     To emphasize participation and skill development, as well as

Sportsmanship and fair play!

4.     To encourage BEST EFFORT, RESPONSIBILITY,

CO-OPERATION AND CREATIVITY.

5.     To expect and encourage all students to dress appropriately for physical activity and play for Fun and Fitness.
