PARENT COUNCIL 

             Last month Parent Council had their elections and at this time I would like to welcome:

Ms. Lena Shore  - President 

Ms. Candace Liebrecht - Vice - President  

Mrs. Tracey McGillivary - Secretary   

Mrs. Theresa Quiring - Fundraising Chairperson

Thank you to all parents and community members who attended our monthly meetings.  We have had another  successful year.  Your hour here and there makes a big difference.

As I step down from President to Vice President, I would just like to thank everyone for all their support in the last two years.  The Staff, Students, Parents and Community of Faraday are wonderful!

LUNCH PROGRAM

The Faraday Parent Council will continue to operate the Lunch Program from September 2008 to June 2009.

1.  Letters for pre-registration of children attending the program will be sent home tomorrow.  

2.  In order for children to attend the Lunch Program, they must be pre-registered for the program.  

3.  The fee schedule for this much needed service has been set by Parent Council and is based on attendance being on a full time (monthly) or a part time (casual) basis.  The fees effective September 2008 are as follows:   Monthly  Fee—payable in full from the 1st to the 20th.  Fees past this date are considered a delinquent account,  therefore your spot will be given to the next person on the waiting list.

$30.00 -  for the 1st child registered 

$50.00 -  for 2 children in the same family

$60.00 -  for 3 or more children in the same family

                 Casual Fee—The fee for casual attendance is $2.00 per day to attend.  The sum must be paid at the time  the child wishes to use the program.  No credit given.  NO FEES—NO SPOT

4.  Due to the number of students in the Lunch Program this past year, a limit of 100 full time applications  will be accepted.  In order to qualify for the 2008-2009 lunch program, all outstanding fees must be submitted  before a new registration is accepted.  Registration will be on a first come first serve basis to working or school   families—far distance in winter.

The Lunch Program will be available for children attending Faraday School from Grade 1 to Grade 6.  It will   commence on the first day of school in the fall of 2008.  It will be operated in the upstairs hall daily from noon until  12:25 P.M. at which time the children will go outside for the remainder of the lunch hour—weather permitting.

Please register your child as early as possible so the planning process can be in place for the first day of school.  All children must be registered before they will be allowed to participate in the program.  It is very important for every child to have a registration form on file for emergency purposes.  All information needs to be added, allergies are a must know. 

Your co-operation in this endeavour is greatly appreciated.  Any further information or inquiries may be made to Faraday School at 586-8583, between the hours 9:00 A.M. and 3:30 P.M. 

ASK YOUR CHILD FOR THE REGISTRATION FORMS  

THEY ARE BEING SENT HOME BY THE MIDDLE OF JUNE

Please attend to all lunch fees that need to be paid, by the end of the first week in June.  We would appreciate this so we can balance our books before auditing.  Thank you.  This has an impact on your registration for September.   As well—a big thank you to all the Lunch Supervisors who work hard all year long for the students during noon hour in the Lunch Room and Outdoor Supervising.  It can be a  bigger job than some people think—your hard work never goes          unnoticed.   To all have a wonderful summer  break—see you in the Fall.
