WE REMEMBER

This PhotoStory presentation was made by some of our grade 7 and 8 students several years ago.  The presentation  illustrates the poem "Why Wear a Poppy" by Doug Crawford and the song "A Pittance of Time" by Canadian singer/songwriter Terry Kelly.  The Photostory may be viewed by clicking on the picture of the poppy below.

We would like to thank singer/songwriter Terry Kelly for granting us permission to use his song "A Pittance of Time" and the Royal Canadian Legion - Dominion Command for granting us permission to use some of their pictures.  The song, "A Pittance of Time", is included on the CD, "The Power of the Dream", which is available through Terry's website at

Click on the picture above to view a PowerPoint Presentation that was used during a  Remembrance Day Service several years ago.   The first part of the presentation is the poem In Flanders Fields by John McCrae.  The poem has been put to music and our choir sang it while the slide show ran in the background.  The second part of the presentation is entitled In Times of War.  This portion of the presentation was our attempt to help our students understand what war was like and why it is so important that we not forget all those who made the supreme sacrifice so that we may live in peace and freedom.
